UAE MOFAIC (Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation) says Houthis targeting civilians infrastructure in the UAE will not pass without a punishment - Sky News Arabia reports.

The Arab Coalition started precision air strikes to destroy the Houthi militia capabilities in Hodeidah.

The Royal Saudi Air Force strikes Houthi targets in Al-Hudaydah, a few Yemeni civilians were wounded. According to Yemeni sources, a communication building was destroyed.

Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) conducts airstrikes on Houthi positions, civilian casualties were reported by Yemeni side.

Three oil tankers exploded in Abu Dhabi:

Houthis took responsibility of the attacks, releasing an official statement the spokesperson from the rebel group Yahya Saree said while hailing the attack as “successful military operation”, he also warned they could target more facilities in the UAE.

Saudi Arabia retaliated:

Saudi Arabia lauched air raids in Yemen's capital, sanaa, killing more than a dozen people. The Houthis claimed that 20 people were killed in the attacks.

• Three oil tanker trucks exploded in Abu Dhabi near storage facilities of oil firm ADNOC, on Monday the local police suspected a potential drone attack. The explosion was caused in the industrial Musaffah area, near storage facilities of oil firm ADNOC.

Aljazeera reported earlier today that, the police said in a statement carried by state news agency WAM “detection of small flying objects, possibly belonging to drones, that fell in the two areas and may have caused the explosion and fire”, adding that they had opened an investigation.

Casualties:

The explosions proved to be deadly as it left three dead, the men killed includes two from India and one another is identified as Pakistani. The incident left six others wounded.

• Apart from the oil tanker truck explosions, one fire broke also reported at a construction site at Abu Dhabi International Airport.

Houthis announce operation “deep in UAE”:

The Yemeni rebellion group known as "Houthis", military spokesman, said the group had launched a military operation “deep in the UAE”. More details would be announced in the coming hours, the spokesman added.

The military group was declared a terrorist group earlier last year by former U.S. President Donald Trump, though Joe Biden regime recently said they would take off the group's name from the list of terrorist organization.

Why Houthis and UAE are at odds:

The Saudi Arabia and UAE are in a direct conflict with Yemeni Houthis since 2017. The coalition is backed by the US, while the UAE had largely scaled down its military presence in Yemen in 2019 but continues to keep the foothold through Yemeni forces it armed and trained.

• The Houthis have reportedly stepped up attacks on Saudi Arabia in recent years.

Last year, the rebel group carried out major drone attacks on Saudi oil facility. The group also said that the attacks will be intensified in the future.
