Roza e Ghous e Azam رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہ
The holy month of Gyarvi sharif which is observed in the remembrance of pirane pir dastagir Hazrat Abdul Qadir Gilani (رضي الله عنه), will start this year on 03 October 2024, and 11 Wi Sharif will be celebrated on the 11th day of the month of Rabi'ul Akhir, that coincides with 14 October 2024 according to Gregorian calendar.
Gyarvi Sharif Date 2024 in India, 11 Rabi Ul Akhir in India will be celebrated on October 14.
Gyarvi Sharif Date 2024 in Pakistan, 11 Rabi Ul Akhir in Pakistan will be celebrated on October 14.
Entire month of Rabi Ul Akhir, is celebrated in remembrance of Sayyiduna Hazrat Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani (رضي الله عنه). 11 Rabi Ul Akhir is also called Badi Gyarvi Sharif.

11wi sharif (11 Rabi Ul Akhir 1446 AH) tarikh in India and Pakistan is 14 Oct. 2024, as the 11th day of Rabi Ul Akhir 1446 AH aligns with 14th of October this year, in India and Pakistan.
The holy month of Rabi Ul Akhir is the 4th month in Hijri Calendar.
• The month of Rabi Ul Akhir to start in India and Pakistan from 03 October 2024 (dates may vary).
• The blessed month of Rabi Ul Akhir comes right after Rabi Ul Awwal, the 3rd month of the Hijri calander and the blessed month of 12wi sharif.
• The Niyaz and Fatiha khwani goes on for the entire month of Rabi Ul Akhir, sunni aqeedah muslims perform Niyaz and Fatiha khwani specially on 11th day of Rabi Ul Akhir month.
• 11vi sharif is celebrated with lots of dhikr of Ghous pak رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہ and big niyaz and fatiha khwani are done, all throughout the month.
Gyarvi Sharif is celebrated on the 11th day of the fourth month of the Islamic calendar "Rabi Ul Akhir" the month comes after "Rabi-ul awwal" which marks the birth of holy Prophet Huzur Muhammad Mustafa ﷺ .
NOTE: These waqiya are told in other ways also in many places (like exectly what talks Huzoor Ghous-e-Pak رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہ did with huzoor pak ﷺ and Hazrat Ali رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہ in one of the waqiya written on this page), the waqia can be heard and read in other ways from many other Islamic scholers who have great knowledge and virtue than me.
I've put this alongside other waqiya with best of my knowledge and by taking it into understanding that the source from which I've derived these waqiya is sunni aqeeda and that these waqiya are mostly same (in language, with some differece) than what I've been told or I've heard from many great Islamic scholers;
I advice you to correct me (email and social media link to communicate with us are given below) if I've covered something which you think should be in other better (surely there is) language (of telling), do listen, read these waqiya of Huzoor Ghous-e-Pak رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہ from other greater sources available to you ان شاء اللہ
May Ghous-e-Pak رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہ put rehmat and blessings on me as well as us all, and forgive us if we've made any mistakes in reading, writing these waqiya.
O, GHOUS HELP:
Hazrat-e-Bishr Qarazi narrates that I was travelling with a group of traders along with fourteen camels carrying sugar. We stopped for the night in a dangerous jungle. In the early hours of the night my four loaded camels disappeared, which were not found even after a lot of search. The group also departed.
The camel driver stayed back with me . In the morning I suddenly remembered that my Mentor, The King of Baghdad Huzoor Ghous-e-Pak رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہ had told me that whenever you get stuck in any problem then call me (my name), ﷲ ﷻ (Allah ﷻ) willing that problem will be solved, hence I requested this way: YA SHAIKH ABDUL QADIR! MY CAMELS ARE LOST.
All of sudden I saw a saintly man dressed in white clothes on a sand dune towards east, who was signaling me to come to him. As soon as I along with my camel driver reached over there the saintly Man disappeared from vision. We were strangely looking here and there when we suddenly spotted those four lost camels sitting under the sand dune. Then what happened was that we caught the camels and re-joined the group.
When Sayyed-e-na Shaikh Ab-ul-Hasan Ali Khabbaz was told the incident of the lost camels He said that Hazrat-e-Shaikh Ab-ul- Qassim has said that I have heard Sayyed-e-na Shaikh Muhi-ud-Din Abdul Qadir Jilani saying:
"THE ONE WHO CRIES OUT FOR MY HELP DURING SOME PROBLEM, THE PROBLEM GETS SOLVED, THE ONE WHO CALLS OUT MY NAME IN ANY HARDSHIP, THAT HARDSHIP; GETS DISMISSED, THE ONE WHO USED ME AS A SOURCE TO ASK ALLAH ﷻ FOR SOME NEED, IT WILL BE FUFILLED. THE PERSON WHO PRAYES TWO RAK'AT OF NAFL AND IN EACH RAK'AT AFTER SURAH FATIHA RECITIES SURAH IKHLAS ELEVEN TIMES, AFTER SAYING SALAAM i.e AFTER FINISHING THE PRAYER, SENDS DUROOD-O-SALAAM ON THE KING OF MADEENAH ﷺ AND THEN WALKS A DISTANCE OF ELEVEN STEPS TOWARDS BAGHDAD SHAREEF AND CALLS OUT MY NAME AND PRESENTS HIS NEED, ALLAH ﷻ WILLING, THAT NEED WILL BE FULFILLED'.
Why should I go from door to door when I have a mentor like You. I received every thing from you 'O, Ghous-e-Azam Dastgir.
THE KING OF JINNS:
Bushair bin Mahfooz states that once my daughter, Fatima, all of a sudden vanished from the roof of my house. I got worried and went to the blessed presence of Sayyed-e-na Ghouse-e-Pak and requested for help.
He told me to go to Karkh, and during the night sit in a deserted place forming a fort (Hisar) around myself. Over there think about em and say:" بسم الله " During the darkness of night groups of Jinns will pass by you, their faces will be very strange, do not get scared by looking at them, at the time of sahari the KING OF JINNS will come to you and will ask you about your requirement. Tell him, "Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani has sent me from Baghdad (my requirement is that) you search my daughter."
Hence, I went to the ruins of KARKH and followed the instructions of Huzoor Ghous-e-Azam.
During the silence of night, horrifying Jinns kept on passing outside my hisar. The faces of the Jinns were so horrifying that I could not look at them. At the time of sahari, the KING OF JINNS came on a horse back, there were Jinns surrounding him. He asked my demand from outside the hisar. I told him that Huzoor Ghous-e-Azam has sent me to you. As soon as he beard this, he got down the horse and sat on the ground. The other Jinns too sat outside the hisar.
I narrated the incident of the disappearance of my daughter. He announced amongst all the Jinns, "Who has taken the girl?" Within moments the Jinns caught a Chinese Jinn and presented him as the culprit. The King of the Jinns asked him why did you pick the girl up from the city of the Highest Cadre in Spiritual Pivot (Qutub) of the time? He said, while shivering, Your Highness! After looking at her I fell in love with her. The King ordered the Chinese Jinn to be beheaded and returned my wonderful daughter to me. I thanked the King of the Jinns and said, as Allah ﷻ will! You are an ardent lover of Sayyed-e-na Ghouse-e-Pak.
He then replied, I SWEAR UPON ALLAH ﷻ WHEN HUZOOR GHOUS-E-PAK LOOKS TOWARDS US, ALL THE JINNS START TREMBLING. WHEN ALL NOMINATES AS QUTUB OF TIME THEN ALL THE JINNS AND HUMANS ARE ORDERED TO FOLLOW HIM. (Bahjaa-tul-Asraar)
All the Jinns start trembling (with fear) on hearing your name. Your Have that majestic awe 'O, Ghous-e-Azam Dastgir.
Muhyuddin Abu Muhammad Ibn Abu Saalih Al-Hasani Al-Husaini, famously known as Shaykh Abdul Qaadir Jeelani رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه.
Abdul Qadir Jilani was a Sufi master and Syed (descendant of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ ) from both his father and mother.
Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jelani was a noted Hanbali preacher, Sufi sheikh and the eponymous founder of the Qadiri Sufi order (selsela).
He رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہ was born on 1 Ramadan AH 470 (about AD 1077) in the Persian province of Gilan (Iran) south of the Caspian sea.
Sayyiduna Shaykh Abdul Qaadir Jeelani رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه was born on Friday, 1st Ramadan, 470 A.H. in Jeelan. His Kunyah is Abu Muhammad, whereas his titles are Muhyuddin, Mahboob-e-Subhani, Ghaus-e-A’zam and Ghaus Al-Saqalayn etc. His father’s name is Sayyiduna Abu Saalih Musa Jangidost رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه and his mother’s name is Umm-ul-Khayr Fatimah رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْها. He رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه is paternally a Hasani Sayyid and maternally a Husaini Sayyid. (Bahjat-ul-Asraar)
Shaykh Abdul Qaadir Jeelani رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه was one of those pious men who were Wali from birth. Therefore, his saintly miracles started taking place right after he was born. As you know that he was born on the 1st of Ramadan, he did not drink his mother’s milk from dawn to dusk. It was only after the sunset that he drank it. Moreover, at the age of five, on the occasion of his بسم الـلّٰـه ceremony, he recited 18 parts of the Holy Quran from memory to his teacher because he had memorized them even before his birth when in the womb of his mother. At the time of his birth, his lips were moving slowly and the sound of ‘Allah Allah’ could be heard. On the day of his birth, 1,100 babies were born in Jeelan; all of them were boys and became Awliya of Allah ﷻ
Gous Pak رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہ went to Baghdad in 488 AH (1095 AD), where he رَضِیَ اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَنْہ pursued the study of Hanbalite law under several teachers.
His mother sewed 40 gold coins in his quilt so that he might spend them when needed.
The dacoits struck the caravan on the way, and looted all the travelers of their belongings. They asked him what he had. He replied that he had 40 gold coins.
The dacoits took his reply for a joke and took him to their chief, who asked him the same question and he again replied that he had 40 gold coins. He demanded him to show, upon whom he tore away, the quilt and produced the gold coins. He was surprised and asked him why he had given the hidden gold coins when he could have kept them hidden.
Young Abdul Qadir Jilani replied that he was travelling to Baghdad to receive education and his mother had instructed him to speak the truth. This left a deep effect on the chief of the dacoits and he gave up looting, and came into Islam by doing baith on Ghous Pak blessed hands.
Popular Sufi Sheikh:
Hazrat Abdul Qadir Jilani not used to preach at first. Once The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ came to him in a dream, before the time of the midday prayer (Zuhr), and he said to him: "O my dear son, why do you not speak out?" He replied: "O dear baba, I am a Non-Arab man. How can I speak fluently in the classical Arabic language of Baghdad?" Holy Prophet said: "Just open your mouth!" He opened his mouth, and The Holy Prophet ﷺ put his saliva seven times in his mouth. A few moments later, Hazrat Ali ibn Abi Talib also came & did the same to him six times. And from that time, Hazrat Abdul Qadir Jilani spoke classical Arabic language with fluency, his memory increased and he felt some great positive spiritual changes in him.
Sayyiduna Shaykh Abdul Qaadir Jeelani رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه used to make speeches in thirteen sciences. About 70 thousand people would attend his speeches. Allamah Sha’rani رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه writes at one place: At the Madrasah of Shaykh Abdul Qaadir Jeelani رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه, people would study Tafseer, Hadith, Fiqh and theology. He used to teach Tafseer, Hadith, Fiqh, theology and Nahw before noon. After Zuhr, he would recite the Holy Quran with different variations of Qira’at. (Bahjat-ul-Asraar)
Shaykh Abu Abdullah Muhammad Ibn Abu Al-Fath Harawi رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه has stated that I served Shaykh Muhyuddin Syed Abdul Qaadir Jeelani رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه for forty years. During that time, he used to offer Fajr Salah with the Wudu of Isha and it was his routine that whenever he was not in the state of Wudu, he would instantly make Wudu and offer two Rak’aat Nafl Salah. (Bahjat-ul-Asraar)
The honourable son of Sayyiduna Ghaus Pak رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه, Sayyiduna Abdul Wahhab رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه has stated that His Grace Sayyiduna Shaykh Abdul Qaadir Jeelani رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه advised and guided people for forty years from 521 A.H to 561 A.H. (Bahjat-ul-Asraar)
The spiritual leader of the Qadiriyyah Sufi order, Sayyiduna Shaykh Abdul Qaadir Jeelani رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه passed away on 11th Rabi-us-Saani, 561 A.H. in Baghdad at the age of 91. His funeral prayer was led by Sayyid Sayfuddeen Abdul Wahhab رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه and was attended by countless people. His blessed shrine is situated in Baghdad which remains crowded with visitors day and night.
He busied himself for forty years in the service of the Islam from AH 521 to 561. During this period hundreds embraced Islam because of him and organized several teams to go abroad for the purpose. He arrived in Indian sub-continent in AD 1128, and stayed at Multan (Pakistan). He took parda from world in AH 561 (AD 1166) at the age of 91 years.
Sayyiduna Shaykh Muhyuddin Abdul Qaadir Jeelani رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه has stated: Over 500 Jews and Christians embraced Islam and more than one hundred thousand robbers, thieves, sinners, transgressors and deviants repented of sins through me. (Bahjat-ul-Asraar)
May ﷲ ﷻ Almighty shower His countless blessings on the shrine of Sayyiduna Shaykh Abdul Qaadir Jeelani رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَلَيْه, grant us Taufeeq to follow his teachings, forgive us without accountability for his sake and resurrect us among his devotees on the Day of Judgement! Ameen!
