• Get "Real-time information from relevant sources." Company says the AI powered search engine would provide real-time information from relevant sources, and users would be able to find up-to-date information from the web with clear links to relevant sources.
• "Search in a more natural, intuitive way."
• "Visual results for richer understanding." According to the official website of OpenAI.
The new AI powered search engine from OpenAI said to be, "A new way to search" as company puts it, "A new way to search Getting answers on the web can take a lot of effort, often requiring multiple attempts to get relevant results. Responses have clear, in-line, named attribution and links so users know where information is coming from and can quickly engage with even more results in a sidebar with source links."
Search Engines competition expended?
The news of SearchGPT will definitely shake the current search engine market and effect current big players like Google and Bing (bing already uses Openai's ChatGPT model on its search engine), while Google has Gemini AI model that serves the users online.
It would be great to learn how the future of searching and web surfing would look like with the entry of AI platforms and machine learning models like GPT. The users would surely benefit from the tech, that's for sure. Though, it might also be a point of concern on how and whether monetization of website owners (publishers) and content creators content would affect negatively or benefit from AI advancing to search engines. One can only prepare and work towards how to co'op with quickly evolving scenarios, and benefit or thrive with it.
