Story: Samsung S24 Chipset? ; 04-04-2023;

Samsung Galaxy S24 series to have Exynos 2400 chipset: Rumoured.

An Korean News outlet hinted the potential use of Exynos 2400 chipset in the 2024 Galaxy S24 series. The news outlet claimed that Samsung is working on the Exynos 2400 chipset.

Samsung releases its top models with both Snapdragon and Exynos chipsets, depending on the country the phone is made for, for example the phones made for US has a Snapdragon chip while in many European, Korean markets, and in India the phones were released with Exynos chipset. The trend was changed with the latest entry of Galaxy S23 series phones, where the phones were released with the same Snapdragon chipset.

• Snapdragon and Exynos flagship processors aren’t made equal. Sometimes one chipset is better than the other, offering improved battery life and/or superior CPU/GPU performance, effectively creating two tiers of Galaxy S customers.

• According to a news publication report, Samsung Electronics will reintroduce Exynos, an application processor (AP) designed by Samsung Electronics to the Galaxy series of smartphones. This is to increase Samsung Electronics' share in the smartphone brain war and reduce the cost of Galaxy products.

The reports also says, Samsung to develop the Exynos 2400, which is aimed at mounting the Galaxy S24 to be released next year. The industry expects mass production of the Exynos 2400 to begin in November at the earliest.

Samsung agreement with Qualcomm? :

The reports conflicts with the 2022 Samsung agreement with Qualcomm, which says that the Qualcomm Snapdragon chips would be the only chipset inside Galaxy S flagship phones.

Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon noted at the time that this was a “multi-year” deal, which suggests the Galaxy S24 series will only be powered by Snapdragon silicon. This makes the above report dubious.
