Shah jahan mosque history
The Shah Jahan mosque was built in the 17th century in the time of Emperor Shah Jahan. It was commissioned in 1647 and bestowed as a gratitude to the city for their hospitality by him.
Jamia masjid was known for its elaborate design and tile work in Asia.
Most significant repairs of the Shah Jahan Mosque were first undertaken during the reign of Aurangzeb Alamgir رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْـه
Later major restorations were completed under Murad Ali Khan Talpur around 1812.
Further renovations were placed in the British era in 1855 and 1894. Final restoration was accomplished in the 1960s and 1970s.
