• People around the world are celebrating World Kindness Day. The annual event was first held in 1998 and is organized by the World Kindness Movement, a collection of NGOs from different countries.
The world kindness day as the name suggest is a day dedicated to give a message of love, kindness, humanity. One could simply highlight good deeds in the community, focusing on the positive power and the common thread of kindness for good which binds us.
Every year on 13th of November people from around the world, display extra kindness towards one-another by hosting or participating in random charity events, giveaways. These events organized at every level and from all parts of the society, people take part celebrating the day.
• Kindness is a fundamental part of the human condition which bridges the divides of race, religion, politics, gender, and location.
• People tend to wear blue to commemorate World Kindness Day.
It is observed in many countries, including Canada, Australia, Nigeria, and the United Arab Emirates. Singapore observed the day for the first time in 2009. Italy and India also observed the day.
Approaches are being made to the United Nations by the peak global body, the World Kindness Movement, to have World Kindness Day officially recognized, and its members unanimously sign a Declaration of Support for World Kindness.
Following the day, social media platforms have been flooded with people sharing beautiful messages, acts of kindness and how they are celebrating the joyous event with the global community.
