Day of Arafat

Arafat day would be 26 May 2026 (date may vary).

The second day of Hajj is called, Arafat day or day of Arafah (Youm-e-Arafah), the day occurs every year on 9th of Dhul Hijjah.

Arafah day is the main day in entire five days of the Hajj pilgrimage, it is also called actual Hajj day.

What is the day of Arafah: Arafah ritual is done at the Plains of Arafat, Pilgrims arrive early at Arafat, to stand in prayer and repentance until sunset (from beginning of Dhuhr Salah till true dawn of 10th Dhul Hijjah). Arafah is the most important ritual of Hajj.

The Day of Arafah is a very important day for Muslims, as it is a day of immense divine forgiveness, mercy and blessings.

The Messenger of Allah صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said: ‘There is no day in which Allah Almighty frees more people from Hell than the Day of ‘Arafah. The mercy of Allah Almighty draws close (to His people), then he honours His people in front of the angels, saying: ‘With what intentions have these people come?’ (Muslim, p. 540, Hadith 3288).

Arafah day Dua

لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ، وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

Hajj is performed for five days, and starts from 8th of Dhul Hijjah it ends on 12th of Dhul Hijjah (Zil Hajj).

Dhul Hijjah is the 12th month in Islamic calendar.

Hajj in Islam: Hajj is the annual Islamic pilgrimage to Makkah and is one of the five pillars of Islam.

Muslims wait their entire life to perform Hajj, at least once in the lifetime, and it is mandatory for those who are capable enough in-terms of physically and financially, to perform one.

After Hajj, Muslims do jiyarat-e (visit) Madina Sharif, and visit Roza e Rasool صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم

Day 1- Yawm at-Tarwiyah - the 8th of Dhul Hijjah,

Day 2- the Day of Arafah - 9th Dhul-Hijjah

Day 3- Yawm an-Nahr (The Day of Sacrifice) - 10th Dhul-Hijjah

Day 4- First Day of Tashreeq - 11th Dhul-Hijjah

Day 5- Second Day of Tashreeq - 12th Dhul-Hijjah
