Hezbollah has officially said that it has attacked targets inside Israel with barrage of rockets, in a retaliation of assassination of its top commander Fuad Shukr, last month in Lebanon.

Hezbollah launched its attack on northern Israel with rockets and drones in retaliation for the killing of commander Fuad Shukr last month, the Lebanese group said. Some reports claim that Hezbollah struck a vital military target deep within Israel, rejecting the claims of a failed attempt.
Israel to preemptive strikes before Hezbollah's attack:
Israeli jets attacked southern Lebanon in the early hours of Sunday morning, saying it was a preemptive strike against Hezbollah rocket launchers that were preparing to attack Israel: Al jazeera reported. The Israeli military said it detected that Hezbollah would launch hundreds of missiles towards central Israel at 5am, Israel’s Army Radio said, so it attacked half an hour beforehand with 100 Israeli jets.

According to reports the situation in Lebanon and Israel stays tense, and both sides are on a high alert, with Israel issuing public advisory. The retaliation involved drones striking a vital military target.
Hezbollah success claims vs Israel success claims:
• Hezbollah says its attack hit 11 Israeli military installations, including the Meron base and four sites in the occupied Golan Heights.
• Israel says it hit thousands of Hezbollah rocket launchers. According to reports attacks from Lebanon covered an area of 1,500 km² of northern occupied Palestine.

Hezbollah-Israel on brink of all out war?
While both parties are signs of restraints with statements from Israel stating focus on "Self Defence", and "strikes in self defence" and Hezbollah has not claimed any high level target of Israel.
In its statement, Hezbollah confirmed that it had successfully completed the first phase of its response to the assassination of Shukr. In this phase, Hezbollah targeted Israeli barracks and sites to facilitate the passage of attack drones towards their intended target deep within the occupied Palestinian territory. The drones successfully reached their destination as planned, according to the statement. The statement also confirmed the use of Katyusha rockets, with number exceeded 320.
