Damac started in construction business in 2002 with its first project, Marina terrace in Dubai. The building was handover in 2006.
It is the second most prominent (as of writing this) property developer in the UAE, according to some experts, just second to Emaar.
Damac was already involved in the contracting and building material market before hitting the constructions in real estate and property development.
In 2013 Damac launched its master community in Dubai, after recovering from the devastating 2008 global market crash.
The name was Damac Hills, the launch was an instant hit, it was a golf course community theme based project.
Another project followed it in 2014, with the name Damac Hills two, in the middle of Dubai's dessert.
Damac continued with its flagship Master Communities projects in the coming years with launch of several apartment projects.
In 2021 Damac introduced its Lagoons project. In 2024 the project Riverside was launched, followed by Sun City and Damac Island.
The latest project from Damac is Island, a Luxury town houses and villas in Dubailand.
Safa Gate, Violet 4, is the upcoming project from Damac in 2025.
One of the plus point of DAMAC is its layout designs and use of building space.
The growth pace really peaked after 2017 after many internal changes, according to a comment made by a property agent in the UAE.
It has 2600 plus employees, and customer service is also a plus point of the developer in recent past, this came after the management change back in 2017.
The cheaper property could be found in Damac Hills two, project with pricing around 600,000 AED.
The price per square feet was around 820 Dirhams in the recently launched cluster, in the Damac Hills two, back in October 2022.
This is cheaper than the closest competition in Emaar in the same area, Emaar launched at 1250 Dirhams per square foot, for its project the Valley in the same area in Dubai. Though area of plots were slightly bigger in comparison with Damac Hills and launch years are also few years apart. Damac launched the project in 2014 whereas Emaar launched the project in 2019, and handover in 2022.
The developer has offering ranging from 600,000 Apartment to 150M AED villas.
Damac has improved significantly in recent years in terms of its, construction quality, support to customers, the portfolio has gone worldwide and still provides good affordable property options in mainland Dubai specially.
