    Sheikh Hasina, PM of Bangladesh resigned, fled the country after students protest took over the country by storm.

    Update: Local media reports in India say an aircraft with Hasina on board lands at Hindon Airbase near New Delhi.

    The 15-year-long regime of Sheikh Hasina ended on 5th August, Hasina is the daughter of first President and Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, who played key role in the independence of Bangladesh.

    Protests in the country started a month ago over a controversial government job quota scheme. To this Hasina government responded by shutting down universities and using the police and military to crack down on protesters. This week Hasina imposed a nationwide curfew and cut off access to phones and the internet. But the protests became more aggressive, resulting in deaths of some of the protestors.

    The demonstration took violent turn and became a nationwide struggle against the Hasina led government.

    One special slogan that rose states, "One, two, three, four, Sheikh Hasina is a dictator!" this become a nationwide used slogan for the protesting young blood of Bangladesh.

    The unemployment, quelling the voices of opposition, corruption and labelling opposition “terrorists”, crackdown on main opposition leaders, using the word “terrorists” to the student and protestors, has led to the ultimate demise of the Hasina rule. Sheikh Hasina was once seen as the democracy emblem in the Bangladesh.

    Hasina fled the country in military helicopter:

    Bangladesh’s Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has resigned and fled the country following weeks of deadly demonstrations.

    The military chief took the governing responsibility of the country, In an address to the nation, army chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman announced that an interim government will now run Bangladesh and called for calm.

    Hasina resigned after 300 people died in weeks of unrest and protest in the country, which Hasina tried to quell with the use of Police and military. A night of deadly violence on Sunday killed close to 100 and a curfew was called.
