Netanyahu accept American bridging proposal for a Gaza ceasefire: U.S. Secretary of State.

U.S. Secretary of State Blinken says Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has accepted the American bridging proposal for a Gaza ceasefire and hostage deal.

The current ceasefire talks are held in Qatar and the mediating parties are Qatar, US, Egypt, while representatives of Israel are attending the talks. Hamas has denied attending the talks, Qatar and Egypt are playing the role of mediator and representing Hamas in the talks, putting Hamas messages across to the other parties involved.

It is noteworthy that Hamas has yesterday rejected the proposal of a ceasefire, as it called the proposal biased. Hamas stated that Netanyahu has introduced new condition to already biased truce proposal.

More than 495,000 people in Palestine’s Gaza — equivalent to one in five of its population — are grappling with severe food insecurity, marked by extreme hunger and exhaustion, a new UN report says

Blinken says ceasefire talks, ‘maybe last’ chance to free captives from Gaza. US president Joe Biden put forward a ceasefire (3 phase) deal earlier in late May, now last week Biden has came up with an 'American bridging proposal' to get the Ceasefire deal implemented between Israel-Hamas, which US president proposed earlier.

Hamas demand and wants the permanent ceasefire in Gaza, whereas Israeli president Netanyahu wants a temporary ceasefire with all hostage release. This according to Hamas would just pause the slaughter of Palestinians for short time and upon captives release from Gaza the killing of Palestinians will restart and continue.

    Who said what?

“Just last week, the [US] president put forward a proposal with Qatar and with Egypt to try to bridge the gaps that remain between the parties so that we can get agreement to what the president put out there a couple months ago,” Blinken told reporters.

“In a very constructive meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu today, he confirmed to me that Israel accepts the bridging proposal, that he supports it. It is now incumbent on Hamas to do the same.” Reported by Aljazeera

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says he sought to free a “maximum number” of captives still held in Gaza in the first stage of a possible ceasefire deal with Hamas.

    Tel Aviv suicide bombing:

The Martyr Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas Resistance movement, and the al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, claimed responsibility for the martyrdom operation in Tel Aviv on Sunday.

A powerful explosion in Tel Aviv Sunday evening claimed the life of one individual, as Israeli authorities in occupied Palestine, confirmed that the blast was caused by an explosive device placed on the truck.

Blinken said “no one should take actions that might be deemed escalatory”, he said this amid the news of “US approval of $20 billion arms sale to Israel, including Fighter jets and advanced Air-to-Air Missiles” came just last week.

    Standings:

Numbers of Israeli soldiers killed since 7 October: 1000+ according to various reports. 100s of Armed vehicles, including merkava tanks, belonging to Israeli army has been neutralized by Hamas and other resistance groups in Gaza: reports.

Last temporary ceasefire between Hamas-Israel took place in November, last year which lasted to 7 days, in which some captives from both sides were released, and humanitarian aid was delivered to Gaza.

    The earlier ceasefire proposal:

According to the proposal a 3 phase ceasefire plan was put forward. this include 6 weeks of initial ceasefire.

Complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza.

Hostage swap from both sides, Israel would release 100s of Palestinians held hostage in its jails.

Gaza's full rebuild, 600 aid trucks daily into the besized strip, return of Gazans to their homes (including in northern part) would take place according to proposed deal.

    Biden on ceasefire deal:

Joe Biden earlier on Friday said that a Gaza ceasefire deal is now in sight and warned parties in the Middle East to not undermine the ongoing negotiations to reach an agreement that would see the release of captives held by Hamas in exchange for Palestinian detainees in Israeli jails.

Biden told reporters on Friday that a deal was “much, much closer” than before the talks began, but he also cautioned that “we’re not there yet”.

Biden also included that “There’s a couple more issues. I think we’ve got a shot.” He said.
